How i got here
When looking to purchase my first home I had no idea where to start. I wasn’t well versed in the residential market and I had no idea what I was actually looking for, though I thought I did.
I had been working in the construction and building management business for years by then. So when I went to look for a house to purchase I thought I knew everything. My husband and thought we knew exactly what we wanted, the budget we could afford, and the area we wanted to be in. So I did what anybody else would do and took to the "Z" word. Scheduled showing after showing for homes we thought we liked. I used whatever agent was available through the site. This went on for three years! We never sat down with an agent and discussed what we were looking for, and I didn’t think we needed to.
What I wanted in a house changed every time I saw a different home. I could never narrow down what was actually important. Then things started to click and I started to narrow down the features I knew I really wanted in a home. I developed this ability to listen to myself as if I was my own client and ,WOW, that made all the difference! Through this experience I developed a way to really figure out the "WHAT". Without the right "WHAT" as a homebuyer, you are going to look at many homes that give you that feeling but ultimately would never think of actually purchasing for one reason or another.
